I jus got my hole set up in.Question is when istalling drives for sata should i use the floppy i made via HD cd or hit F6 when installing windows?

Which is better?

when installing a windows installing onto a sata drive you need to hit F6, insert the floppy (with the sata drivers on it), install the drivers, then finally install windows.

Normally you wont need to hit F6 or do anything differnt in the installation of the satadrive. I never have.

If for some reason you do, just incase you didn't know you need the SATA frives from your motherboard, not the HD, since its actully the sata controller the drivers are needed for, but again you shoulnd't actully need the drivers to install windows.

lol get sata2... i formatted my sata2 in half the time i did my regular sata... of course its a smaller drive as well..

Wait does that mean you need a floppy drive when installing OS on a SATA HDD? Since it won't recognize it? What can you do if you don’t' have a floppy drive on your new computer and have only SATA HDD?

It's because of the size, not that it's SATAII.

I'm thinking no one has tried this? crap I guess I need to go buy me a floppy drive ^^;;

is the cable the same or does the new mobo these days require different cable for floppy these days?
