SATA help

I just got a new computer and as I was putting it together I relized that i didnt know how to hook up a SATA HDD. I plugged the SATA cable into the HDD and into the motherboard and I used the 4 pin power connector to power the HDD. The HDD is not reconized in the BIOS what do I do.

You need to load the raid drivers (SATA). Put in the win xp cd, and when promted to prtess f6 for the raid drivers do so. then insert the disk that cam with it and load em. Thats it.. simple but stupid huh..

I tried try that and it still isnt working when I load the drivers and then press enter it still says that it can't find my HDD

Have you tried plugging the hdd into the power supply to turn it on? This was the problem we had with ours when it wasn't recognizing the hdd. Hoe this helps!

also double check all connections. make sure ur plugs are all fully seated. those sata plugs are small and people tend to be cautious with them. make sure they are fully seated.

Make sure the sata0 port is enabled aswell
