SATA II and Windows XP SPK-2

To find out you need to go on down to your IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, there should be in the drop down some Nvidia Serial ATA controllers and your drive shoud be listed there. It should say something like Serial ATA Generation 1.5

Is this what you need?

It is automatically set to 1-1.5, should I change it to PIO mode?

So there is nothin I can do about it? Not that it's a big problem just a little weird.

Anyway thanks for your help.

Dont know why games dont see it, but when installing windows is your XPcd non SP2, if so thats probable why. It has alot less generic Sata drivers.

Next time you install windows you could try slipstreaming your Sata drivers first to your XP cd to see if that works.

Come again, slipstream SATA drivers  -googling-

Interesting, next time I install xp (usually about every 20 days) I'll try that, or shall I say I'll try that for the next time I install xp. I suppose I could use the same principal to automatically install my network and video card drivers, correct?

You just save your Sata drivers to a folder and use a program called nLite. It will save a copy of your XP cd in a folder and you can add any drivers you want to it and then it makes a bootable ISO XP that you can burn that will have all your drivers included. You will have a copy of your XP cd with your drivers.

I suppose you can, since those drivers are in a exe. you would probable have to unpack them first before nLite could add them
