why does SATA 2 say SATA 3.0Gb/s ?? I thought the data transferrate is 300 mbps ?, Ive tryed googling but can find a straight forward answer.

Also while im on the topic is SATA 2 alot better than normal SATA ?
(Even against a RAPTOR 10k ?)

Cheers for your time ppl :)

sata2 is faster than sata not double speed though and the sata2 drives come close to the raptor but raptor still the winner.

3Gb's / 8 = 375MB's. Its actually 3 Gigabits, not bytes.

Yes, SATA 2 is better than SATA, and according to some benchmarks a SATA 2 drive outperforms a Raptor 10K.

WOW, cheers for the info m8y, Do you know what the actual transferrate it on a SATA and SATA 2 ?
