Sata Temps?

Just got a new HD today 320gb 16mb cache seagate ST3320620AS

Now it claims 60c is "max temp" atm it runs at 37c in a 85Fish room its peak was 40c before I added a small 80mm fan on the bottom side.

Whats the max temp for a SATA HD? I was told anything over 45c on my old 120gb IDE was not good but this HD runs about 5c hotter at idle then my worn out IDE drive.

My case air flow is rather nice as I stated I got a 80mm fan blowing directly on the HD itself and the side of the case is off since my PC is rather quiet and I noticed a 3c drop in temps a year ago when I made my first PC.
 
Its fine just so long as it doesnt get so hot that the platters expand. 60 is a pretty safe maximum. Laptop drives run at 40/50 under load. Desktop drives used to be 30/35 but faster more modern drives are 35-45 under load

Eh how would I know and whats the temp for something like that could happen? Now I am thinking getting a second 80mm to blow on the top part of the HD lol.

I always hate new tech...never sure whats the best for it...though I am curious if this drive will last for 30k+ hours like my faithful IDE.
 
truthfully it has to be 70+ to even run a slight risk of getting damaged

its only at 80+ that you get issues
