I have the A8N5X, as i say in my sig. It supports up to SATA 1 specs (1.5gbps).
I have a cheapo WD SATA II (3.0gbps) 7.2k rpm 160gb HDD.
I have reeeeaaaaallllyyyyy sssssllllllloooooowwww loading times.
I have several programs that tell me my HDD is 17C hotter than my CPU at full load (40C).
I have a couple programs that tell me that my drive is working in Ultra DMA mode- 133mbps.
I have posted about this before, but it is really starting to annoy me.
Any help is appreciated.

I have it hooked to SATA Master 1 header on my mobo- i dont have it hooked somehow as an IDE or anything lol.

i was thinking about that- but i have an 80mm blowing cool air right over it, its not squashed between two drives, nothing... and one of the porgrams reported this tempurature no more than 3 minutes after i had booted, which is really fast heat up time.

Do you have the cases which has the optional heat sensors... Basically you can place where you want it to be placed? Or try to use a different heat sensor?
