SATA vs EIDE, need advice.

My Dell Dimension 8400 has a clicking SATA hard drive that goes blue screen on me. I went and bought a new HD, but it's an EIDE. I havn't opened the box yet. What is the difference between the two? Will it work as well, or should I return it? Thanks!

The difference is the connector. Most likely you have an IDE port, since most computers have two except for new computers.

If you have a SATA port and the SATA drive is the same price, you might as well go with the SATA.
