There weren't any IDE(ATA) drives that were 10,000 RPMs... At least, I don't know of any. Just the Raptors that were SATA...
Anyway, harddrives are very slow in general. I don't think you'd see a huge difference between say an ATA133 and SATA150(or even SATA-II) I mean when I had a pair of Raptors in a RAID, I got 216Mbps. By SATA standards, I should of gotten around 300Mbps...
Good brands, I stick with Western Digital and Seagate. WD is fast, Segate is reliable...
