'Save target as...' button is permanently greyed

I'm running XP Home on a new machine. I've had this problem before - the 'Save Targte as...'button is permenently greyed, so that I can't right click and download files. So far, I haven't noticed anything else that's odd. I run Symantec all the time.
The only recent software install was a peer-to-peer client. I've removed that, no difference. I also ran a System Restore back to the year dot to no effect.
Any clues?

Run a SpySweeper if you can. Even Microsoft's beta, if you dont wanna pay anything.

Tried the spyware fix, no effect, and this isn't an IE problem - it's an XP problem. Any other ideas, folks?

Close IE

Open regedt32

Go to key HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer

Make sure Internet Explorer is highlighted and choose edit > Delete


Open IE again.

It's perfectly safe to delete this registry entry because IE will build itself a fresh one once you open it back up.

Of course if that doesn't work you can always try Firefox.
