Saving a Movie to a DVD-R

I made a movie in windows movie maker and am now trying to save it to a dvd-r. The problem is, when I try, it tells me there was an error and to insert another disk and try again. It did this twice and I am now on my third disk and am assuming I will get the same results. Has anyone put a movie on a dvd-r from movie maker? If so, what am I doing wrong.

im not familiar with moviemaker because i dont use it because of the lack of utilities it offfers for customization. u can try dvd+r, though i am not sure that will be your problem. mines work the opposite, dvd-r but not dvd+r.. so u can try that if u have any dvd+r handy.. if not go to ur neighborhood dollar tree and get one. and how are you burning it? through moviemaker? as a dvd?

if your pc came with windvd, pretty common.. u can try it with intervideo dvd creation.

Try downloading a converter that will convert the file into a SVCD or something like that.

try a different program to make and write the file to the dvd-r drive.....windows movie maker sucks at just about everything compared to the cheap even free programs out there.
