I see lots of programs like Speed Fix Tool that advertise they scan your computer for free, but after finding hundreds of problems they will fix a few for free and you have to pay for the rest. Are they all scams or do some really fix your computer? Also do software like System Mechanic Professional work? Thank You

Hi,
I would recommend only using the well-known and recommended programs, especially when it comes to fixing your computer.
Have a read of the below link from CF which includes some programs you can download and run scan's on your local disk with.
Other than that, make sure that you have a good (well known) anti-virus installed and updated and you shouldn't have to worry so much about malware.

They're useless, so just avoid them at all cost.
