Scrapping parts from old computer

I just got a new computer for my mom and she gave me her old HP.

I already took out the RAM and hard drive and put them in my computer.

So I'm wondering if there are any other parts I could steal that would enhance my computers performance?

My bad. I have an HP a1540n with a 7600gt geforce video card, 2 gbs memory (before the two 512s I scrapped from hers) and an amd athlon 64 x2 dual core processor.

Her's is a lesser model so none of the components would be superior I don't think. I'm just wondering if there is anything else I can double up on like the RAM.

Thanks for the FAST repsonse

If her's is a "lesser model" I would consider checking her RAM incase it clocks in lower speeds then the RAM that you already have. If yours clocks at 800 and hers at 533, your whole ram setup will max out at 533MHz, its only as fast as its weakest link. Other then that I dont think you can do very much.. Take a fan?

Basically, I save all the parts I can get my hands on from retired PCs in case I need something for when a main part fails and I need a backup. You never know when a spare NIC or optical drive will come in handy... even if it's slower than what you have in your main box.

This is what it says on the sticks 512MB 1Rx8 PC2-3200U-333-12HYMP564u64p8-e3 AA

333 Mhz right?

I just found another stick labeled 512MB-DDr2 PC4200

What mhz would that one run at???

I would actually consider selling the computer rather taking it apart like that. It is still a very potent system which could surely get u a few bucks.
