Whenever I open a new window the new screen takes forever to redraw. First i get an outline then it fills in in pieces takes sometimes upto a minute!
If i try and x it out a window comes on " program not responding" and the hour gl;ass goes round and round . anyone have a clue?
Thanks

Sounds like your typical "slowness" due to spyware, viruses, or just too much running in the background. Run Adaware, Spybot, a virus scan(AVG Free if you don't have one installed) and maybe hijackthis(post the log here)

n system virus scan

I ran system virus scan. It just usually shows a tracing cookie..Which i delete.
Doesnt seem to make a difference. Problem is usualy in the AM. when i log on to internet for first time. seems like I have to logon several times before it " warms Up"./ But the problem happens online or offline. There isnt really much running inthe background. Also get screen freezups needing to reboot Comp, and error messages says " program not responding"

I have this problem to a lesser degree (=maybe three to five seconds to draw the first window or two). I did NOT have it when I had a faster hard drive as my C: drive. My two-cent guess is that it's taking a while to transfer GUI data from the hard drive to RAM. Is this is a recent problem for you? Something's slowing down your data transfer.
