Screen Help - Can't see anything? (pictures inc.)

Hi Guys,

I turned my laptop on this morning and noticed when I booted it up the screen was like this until the welcome screen :

And when it boots to the welcome screen it is like this:

Any ideas what is wrong?

Once it hit the welcome screen it works correctly right? It's just when it is booting?

restart the computer. when ya get to the home screen then tilt the screen inward and slowly outward and see if it comes back. Thats the issue i have now. Has to be almost 90 degrees for it to work. Im planning on taking it apart and looking at the screen assembly. Suspect a loose connection for me.

no the first picture is what it looks like when I turn it on. The second image with the blue background is obviously the welcome screen but it looks washed out and can see the same lines as when I turn it on.

also bending the screen doesnt work, just the exact same thing

Either the screen or the video has gone out. A tech should be able to tell which.
