Screen Over stretched

Hey guys,
I just purchased another monitor and a wall mount to hook my playstation 3 up to. I used the rocketfish hdmi/dvi converter. I did buy the cheaper one but the price difference was 50 dollars and the other one in my opinion just looked cooler. Everything was great and it was all centered in the playstation windows. However as soon as I loaded a game part of the screen on the right side is missing! In this situation its the rpm gage and nitros bottle missing in Need for speed carbon. This is about an inch of missing screen. This is the set up I have - click here

I'm not exactly sure what the problem was but I know that when the ps3 was set to 1080i the problem was a whole lot worse. Now that I have switched that off the problem is barable.

Anyone? Its covering some important stuff in medal of honor airborne and noone on the playstation 3 forum is giving me any help.
 
You've obviously got some sort of format issue. Does it happen on any other monitors?

Really I think the issue is that the monitor doesn't support HD. Sure it does the HD resolution, but it wont support the HD format if it's a simple computer LCD monitor. Regular 1080i res is 1920x1080 and I highly doubt that monitor supports that res.

Darn. Looks like it works for my 22 inch monitor.. However that monitor doesnt have the 100x100 vesa wall mounting capabilities. I wonder what the difference is that is making this happen. The samasun monitor is the syncmaster 2232gw 3000:1 2ms and the acer is a 2000:1 5ms acer p191w. Would it be the 3000:1? I hope futureshop will take it back :|
