Screen Resolution stuck!

I just put windows XP pro on my computer and I cant get the screen resolution to go any higher than 640x480 with Medium(16 bit) and there arent even any other options that are showing in the Display Properties! Can anyone help me?
 
Either use the cd that came with the card or go to the manufactures site and download the specific drivers for your card.
 
ha ha! I fixed it! I looked in the device manager and it had an error on the driver so I reinstalled it and now everything is good! Thanks for the help!
 
You should also check you got all the other drivers. Some chipsets have packages for greater compatibility. The system should work without them, but it's always best to load them if available.
 
Yup, Driver.
If you don't have the driver installed, the resolution will only change after you restart your computer or something...
