i just heard from a good source that when comming out of a screen saver, your computer will be a lil bit slower. i was just wondering what everyone thinks?

my home computer is in my specs so i dont think i would knowtice a differance but my work one is quite low end.

any ideas or theorys?

not always, well sometimes, but it really depends on the amount of apps that you left running before the screensaver starts, it really hurts if u had photoshop cs2 open..

as of now i've just set up my systems to just "shut off monitor after 5 min". i figure thats better than just leaving it on for hours and hours...

I personally just go for a blank screen saver, noone is going to enjoy a slideshow if noone is there.

I'm using Linux and most the time i only have firefox and openoffice open so i don't notice any difference.

I quit fooling with screen savers along time ago, I just have the monitor shut down after about 15 or 20 minutes

meh, i think its only slow to load up the desktop, mine refreshes in like 2 ms so not much of a dif or change
