Screen Saver keeps shutting off???

Hello:
I have a fairly new machine with Win XP Media. I have the screen saver set to come on 8 minutes after no activity. The screen saver will come on and stay on for about 8-10 minutes, however it suddenly shuts off and comes back to the last screen that I was viewing. I am guessing that something is running that is forcing the screen saver to keep turning off. Any suggestions??? Thanks!
 
There are some programs (including spyware) that can do this. Look through your processes window and see if anything pops up now and again.
 
I have been trying to figure out this issue all weekend without any success. It is not the mouse getting knocked and I do not think that it is spyware. Any other suggestions? Thanks
 
What programs do you have running? Anything from you Anti-virus checking for updates to something like an ad on a webpage can do it.
 
I have no programs running other than anti virus and I have always had that running - this issue just happened all of a sudden.
