This computer was built around a month ago and twice it turned a pinkish color..The mouse froze and no buttons or commands would work unless I manually shut it off..I first thought possibly the gpu overheated but I wasnt gaming and there is plenty of air movement in there. Any ideas would be great:)

Try using a different monitor, if it fixes it, your monitor has an issue, and if it doesn't contact the maker of your gpu, and ask.

Take out the GPU and try running the monitor of the onboard graphics if you can to see if you still get a problem. I think it likely is your GPU if you say everything freezes, sounds like the card may be overheating or is drawing too much power from the PSU. What card is it and what PSU do you have? (make/model)

have you checked your cables? it sounds like a channel is going wonky, my right display has a similar issue, tho one whole color will go out and i end up with a greenish hue, at work i have a different issue, i get a yellow shift across the entire thing...the cable is worn out.

If you're using a VGA-DVI adapter or some kind of adapter that may also be the problem. I've come across good and bad adapters in my time. Some of the lesser quality ones make the screen go green or yellow at times and sometimes the screen may ghost...

Your video card could cause your whole system to freeze. It could possibly be your motherboard giving you problems (I would not completely rule out a Power Supply Unit though that is unlikely). The only way to really know is get working video card and test it on your system.

Make sure your drivers are up to date, this has happened to me occaisionally but windows manages to recover it, just a driver problem for me:)
