Screen went negative?

I found an old laptop that my mom used to have and I want to use it for work with programming remotes for hometheaters. It is a Dell latitude cpx and I am not sure about anything else. I know that my mom dropped it a while back and the screen's colors are negative. She always hooked it up to a screen when she used it until she got a new laptop. I can still see whats going on in the screen, but the negative effect is just annoying. Is there a small easy inexpensive quick fix I can do for this?

Yeah unless you got lucky and something came loose it's gonna cost more then that thing is worth to fix. You could take it apart and check to make sure all the ribbion cables are tight and nothing is loose.

He is right that it is likely WAY more expensive than the laptop is worth to fix. However, if you care at all about the laptop working and you have never taken apart a laptop for an LCD diagnosis or repair, please please get in contact with a tech in your area first. If you feel up to it, you can search Google for the exact model number of the unit and the words "disassembly" or "repair guide" which can often result in you finding a step by step guide that someone else has already put together.

Good luck!

Yeah I figured the same thing because if I buy a new screen that would be more than just getting a new one. But for now until I get a new laptop I am going to just get used to the negative colors and use it. But another question, is there any way I can just make the screen negative again with a program or anything? I tried accessibility settings and its still not what I am trying to get at. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
