screensavers

No, I learned how to use the button on my monitor.:P

Advantages: if you forget to turn your monitor off, you save pow- wait! no you dont! Cuz some other crap just comes on the screen!

- Your monitor wont have any pictures "burned" into it by leaving it on. For some monitors if you leave the same picture on it for too long it will permanently be there (faintly)

Disadvantages:  Kinda Annoying??

If you DO want to save power, go into power options in Control Panel and set your monitor to turn OFF! after a certain amount of time.:D

no, other way round, it happens more to CRT's, almost unheard of in LCD's and plasmas.... and any CRT manufactured in the last 10 years, will NOT suffer from a burn-in. they overcame this problema long time ago, you would have to leave the exact same imageon the screen for literally months before that would start to happen....

Hey, finally, another person who learned how to use that big bad button! And to think, I thought I was the only one. :P lol

Actually, I hear that it's VERY rare for CRTs to burn anymore. They've just improved enough where it's not really nesseary. Screen savers anymore are just for fun.

Besides, like others, if I'm not on my machine, it's either off totally, or the screen's off :P

i disabled my screen saver, i think its a waste of system resources.....just set your computer to turn off your monitor after a set time i.e. 5 min :D
