perhaps the OP could have been a bit more specific, what does 'intense' really mean in a graphical context? i fail to see what is so intense about Dirty's shot, no offense, maybe i just don't get the rules.
the OP made the intense contest with intentions for it to be for stunning graphics. graphics that make your jaw drop, either from content or the visual quality. i think different people interpreted it differently from one another, but it resulted in some good submissions, so who is complaining

just as a heads up, the pictures with minimal HUD in them tend to do very well. some games make it nearly impossible to get rid of ALL the HUD, but try to be aware of what is onscreen when taking a shot.

Yeah thats what I based my vote on. But I agree, people would have interpreted it differently.

Its pretty hard to get a really good shot, I usually have to take about 50 in order to get a good one. So I'll just pick a game that seems appropriate for the contest theme, then play for about half an hour taking lots of shots. Then just go back through them and pick the best one. If the theme was something like landscape it would pay to spend a while finding a good location etc some shots. The contests are only a bit of fun though so dont take it too seriously
yeah a good way to get screenshots for contests is to tell fraps to take a screenshot every X seconds, you would be surprised by what turns out.

more exposure, whether it has any difference in votes or not, fair is fair.

I voted for Candy because part of capturing a screen shot is part of capturing the moment. I love the silhouette of the soldier show from the light from the explosion right behind him. Though in real life if he were that close his body would probably be in mid air.
