SCSI Beginner

Hi, I just inherited an older compaq computer and was looking through what was on it and realized it was SCSI, which i've never really dealt with before. It's not that much of a problem, but I notice it has 5 partitions on 4 drives. they are 2gb, 15gb, 2gb, 9gb, 9gb. the first two are on one disk, but the rest are on separate. is there any way to combine this space? I usually set my computer up to have one partition for OS, one for programs, and one for data.

also, the disks are not all the same. if i wanted to buy a bigger disk (to accomodate say 50 GB), can I buy anything that's SCSI? what should I look for to know what's compatible with my system?

From experience SCSI is very expensive and if all the drives are different RAID won't work because the drives must be the exact same model. You could use GPartEd available from Sourceforge to combine the partitions on the first disk.
