well, i want to buy a new pc. wich means that my old system will go to my sister. now, i want to keep a system at home, so i can play lan games.
i have 1 pc with 512 mb DDr RAM, and the system below has 1024 SD-DDR RAM. i know that DDR is newer, but because its twice the ammount of SD RAM i dont know what system to keep at home for games.

it also depends on the specs of both pcs. you want to choose the one with the highest average spec, not just the one with the most amount/best ram!

chances are the one with DDR Ram (as opposed to SD type) is going to be better because it uses a newer/more advanced type of RAM. but thats just my guess.

I'd keep the one with DDR (going entirely based on RAM, I don't know what other specs the computers have) because, even though you may have to deal with a little laggyness with games (which you might encounter with the SD-RAM anyway), you can always upgrade the amount, whereas the SD-RAM...you could upgrade, but it might be a pain in the butt to find semi-decent SD-RAM, and the speed isn't going to be too great even with more capacity.

they don't have different slots, PC133 is SDRAM and say PC2100 (2700,3200, etc) is DDR-SDRAM. If the slots are different one isn't DDR

Thw two different types of sam are SD RAM and DDR (SD)RAM

the SDRAM has less pins and slower, the DDR has more pins and faster. I could get the DDR and DDR is nesisarly twice as expensive, Now adays SDRAM is more expensive becuase they dont make as much of it is my guess, but go on www.ebay.com and you can find prettty good prices, and on there SD is always ending higher then DDR.

I would go for a DDR RAM PC.

DDR is also more compatible with more mobos so if you ever wanted to do an upgrade chances are you wouldnt need all new ram they are making less and less mobos with SDRAM slots
