SDHC card help

I have Match speed trio 5000 and got a Micro SDHC card for it and it is 16 BG

Wen I insert the card and format it it formats it in fat 32 and nothing els I have win xp pro.

Wen it formats the card I go to properties and the capacity of the card says
14.8 GB

Why not 16 GB it just was formated?

Were is my 2 other GB?
 
I may be wrong about this... but I know hardrives you never get the ammount of GB. My laptop i am on for example my hardrive is 120 gb but only shows 111
 
My mp3 is 4GB and shows 3.73GB space. In Windows Disk Management it shows 20MB as Hibernation. The 2GB SDHC card shows as 1.83GB. Not far off your 1.2GB for 16GB.

It's probably FAT32 because that's all it supports.
 
This is normal. Every hard drive has less 'useable' space than the box says - even flash (usb/sdhc) storage.

My terrabyte drive has 1024GB according to the box... but only have 930GB of 'useable' (readable/writeable) space...
 
You should be getting around 14.9GB out of it.
Storage is measured in bytes, so it is 16,000,000,000 bytes, which OS's read as 14.9GB, since they go up every 1024, not every 1000. Take 16 billion and divide it by 1024 a few times and you'll get 14.9.
