Hello.
I'm glad to be the part of Computer Forum community.
I've got one BIG problem with my SATA SEAGATE HDD.
Here's the problem:
My computer doesn't recognize this HDD, AND if I put it out of chassis it just...it doesn't spin. If I touch it I don't feel vibrations... like it would've got lack of power, but it worked before.
Please, help me, I had 140 GB's of pure data on this HDD.
If I said something not clear enough - ask.
I've got: ASUS P4P-800 SE motherboard.

Sorry for my English. I'm not the best as you can see ;)

did you recently do anything with your computer? Change parts around? Was there a powersurge before? How old is the harddrive?

Well, I've had another motherboard before. Why did I change it? Because:
1. it was slow
2. this sata didn't work on it too

When I've changed it to ASUS one, it was WORKING (yay!) and I was happy.
Now it doesnt work... so it's not because motherboard.
HDD is almost new... 1 year. Warranty's over (f... Polish law! :( ).
Can you help me somehow? how could I fix this cr..a..p? :D

Guys, I am sorry for double posting, but I have to.
THAT HDD IS TOTALLY F... UP!
It was working yesterday! But now it doesn't.
What's wrong? People, PLEASE, ANSWER!

Don''t you understand me? I've changed to ASUS motherboard some time ago. Because it was so slow, and my SATA didn't work on ASROCK.
HDD was working about 1 month, then it wasn't working for....2 months.
Yesterday it accidentally started spinning and it was working!
Now I don't know what makes this HDD so crazy... It works from time to time. LONG time to time.

I didn't understand the exact situation or I wouldn't have asked.

I find seagate drives are fairly silent, I can't feel vibrations on mine and it doesn't get warm to the touch.

Have you checked your power supply and/or tested the HDD in another computer?

Sata drives (software) installed and power cables hooked up right? Enabled in BIOS? Assuming this is extra storage and boot and OS is IDE drive?? Try safe mode.

Sata drives soft? I assume I've got it installed. Power cables - OK. BIOS - Enabled. it's extra storage HDD and OS is IDE drive. Safe mode doesn't work.

Oh, Cromewell - this one makes vibrations. If it was working, I've definetly felt the vibrations.

I guess it's justly destroyed, BUT it was working some time, then it stopped, then it was working again...
I don't really know what wrong can be with that.
