Seagate 1TB

I've had my Seagate for a couple years and not a peep out of it. Runs smooth and quiet. The one you linked is probably model # ending in MOO3 and would be a good drive.

That's I think the same as what I have and been using mine for 11 months with zero issues. Quick drive too. Actual available memory is 931 gigs though. But that's the case with all HDD. Always less than what is stated.

That's a Windows 'thing', not the drive itself. If you plug it into Linux it will come up as having a capacity of 1000GB and probably the same with OS X, so the drive itself can hold 1000GB. If you'd like to know why in Windows it comes up as 931GB feel free to PM me and I'll explain it, but it's too long winded to explain here now. ;)

its not going to be 1000GB in any OS. It has to do with the defination of a GB. The HDD manufacturers define it as 8 bits to a byte 1000 bytes to a MB and 1000 MB to a GB and 1000 to a TB. The OS correctly sees it as 8 bit bytes, 1024 to a MB and so on. your paying for a 1000GB but you will never be able to see it unless you force the OS to see a MB and forward as 1000 instead of 1024.
