Seagate 250GB HDD: Naked electronics??

Hi
Has anyone any experience of Seagates Barracuda 250GB drive 7200.8? I just recieved one from Ebuyer here in the UK. The electrostatic bag the drive arrived in has a 'Western Digital' logo on it, and was already open! WD and Seagate aren't related are they?
Also it arrived with no cover over the electronics; ie I can see all the PCB, IC's etc. Is this normal for this drive?
Looks like I've been sold a dodgy return, but would appreciate knowing quickly whether the lack of a cover is normal before I harangue Ebuyer.
Thanks.
Phil

Did you order an OEM or full retail box, if its a retail box then yes definately, if its OEM then its prob ok but the bag being open is still unnacceptable. If you kick up a big enough fuss you can probably get the replacemetn free of charge, he he. notspeaking fomr personal experience or anything....LOL

if you cant see the discs, everything is alright,.. i have a WD 160GB HD, and i can see some IC's and such stuff 2.
at least, i think you mean something like this ;)

i have bought more WD drives, and they all had simmilair design. so, if you cant see those magnetic discs inside, then everything is alright.

if you can see the disc's, well.. then the HD is broken, and there is nothing you can do at that point ;)

Thanks for the replies everybody, and for the pics Archangel. However I'm still going to complain and insist on a new 'factory sealed' item, if I can actually get any sense out of anybody at Ebuyer through their 'Enote' system. (Next time I buy anything from any company, I'm going to check they can actually be contacted with a standard rate phone call, should something go wrong...)
Thanks again
Phil

Ebuyers Enote facility is very cloged at the moment, you can expect to wait around 7 days (working days) for a reply, and then another 7 days for a reply after that, they are near impossible to have a conversation with.

A note about the board being exposed, I have a Segate 80G 7200 2M, and it has something on it called DriveSheild(well, I beleive that's what it's called) where the board is actually covered. I know I'm a tad late, and you should complain if it was suppose to be 'new' but yeah, it seems some do have a cover over the bottom. Just FYI, this is the only drive I've seen that actually does have something like this...
