Hey guys,
Hope to check some facts offered by the suppliers.
-Seagate 500GB @ 7200rpm with 32MB cache
-WD 500GB @ 7200rpm with 16MB cache
Which of it should offer a better reliability and performance? I heard that WD hard disks are more power efficient and quieter, but given a lower cache memory, will the performance be affected significantly?
Another question is that I heard hard disk don't actually used up till 32MB cache, so Seagate offers at such a high memory cache is actually pretty useless?
All of these are heard and seen from here and there, so not sure which is true or false. Please comment. Thanks!
