Search engine companies server data question

Is it possible to download and/or delete what Yahoo's servers know about your search and browsing history? One of the Yahoo Tech columnists wrote an article recently about how to do so with Google's servers:

Is there a way to do this with Yahoo's servers as well? I have scoured their so-called Help Q&A and posted a question on Yahoo Answers, but not had any luck so far.
 
Only if the provider gives you that functionality.

And you should also be aware that just because the data is no longer visible in that utility doesn't necessarily mean it's been purged.

Perhaps you should refrain from doing things you may be self-conscious of.

I understand I can keep (for example) Google from saving my search data by amping up the privacy settings in my browser, and that my browsing history can still be seen by my ISP and employer...that's not the point of my question.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so judgmental of the reasons some people don't want personal search and browsing data stored on search engine servers. Maybe I just don't like all the data gathering that goes on by Google, Yahoo, and the others. Maybe, just maybe I don't want the search engines to tailor their search results to my browsing habits. Once they have it stored on their servers, it's there unless they allow an option to delete it, which as per the article referenced above, Google has done. I simply wanted to see if anyone knew if Yahoo also has provided that option as I have not found it. If not, so be it. I can live with that.

You don't HAVE to use those services..

Also, VPN or SSL proxying your traffic will alleviate you from your ISP-speciifc paranoia.
 
Thanks for the helpful reply, Agent Smith! I had never heard of those search engines before. Been playing around with Duck Duck Go and I like what I'm seeing. Will compare to Startpage soon.
