Searching for a game I lost

Hi guys,

I remember having a game which name I sadly forgot and I lost it whe I moved years ago. It was a base building type of game on pc, and you had to build a base on an alien planet, take ressources, and survive attacks from aliens. It was in 3d, and you could walk around the base, drive the veihicule you wanted, or even do missions. I really loved it, and it would be awesome if you could tell me the name of this game.

If you find it, could you tell me also of a more recent game that is like that? I loved this game so much that I would buy games that are like that for sure.

The only one that I can really think of is Dark Reign... I don't think that it had the take control part of it though... Any more info that you can remember?
 
Ooooh, or is it Ground Control perhaps? I'm pretty sure that one got pretty much to the point of letting you take over individual units...
 
Thanks guys for searching for me, I also spent a long time searching for it online, and I found it! It's Battle zone 2! :) I loved this game! However, I read that it wasn't compatible with win 7 premium 64 bits, which sucks, and it seems that there is some way to fix it, but honestly, I didn't really understand how to do it. Could you help me?

No, I didn't. I mean, I did lose the game cd, so I'll have to buy it again. What is compatibility mode? :S Sorry, I am a newbie, lol.
 
You right click on the icon of the game and select "Properties". Then click on the "Compatibility" tab and select the system that the game can be played on. So far it worked for me. :)
 
I have this issue playing older games in Windows 7 so what i've done was got a new hard drive and put Windows XP on that and that way i had 7 on one drive and XP on the other ran in a dual boot environment.

Also in compatibility mode i have found it still does not work as well as a proper Operating System install as my keyboard and mouse proved unresponsive in some games. Also some games would crash in a cutscene.
