Second build idea help

Ok I changed things up, most likely this computer will not play games AT ALL

For now will be running a 24" monitor but for the chance to run duals at some point

Needs to have good memory (storing lots and lots of pictures), run videos, be able to run multiple screens quickly, be cooled properly, and last me at least 4 years

Budget is $700 or under, like I said, speed and lots of memory, mainly needs to be durable, and run stuff quickly, graphics decently, (want the pictures to look good)

Thanks for the help!

edit: mainly everyday computing, running youtube, multiple tabs, microsoft word, excel, etc, easy stuff

and run 8 poker tables at a time if that helps lower the price to something simple, or if you recommend a prebuilt one by some company

memory (RAM) do nothing with storing picture (HDD space) ...
Picture look good is doing with monitor, not video card...

Do you know what you are talking about??

Anyway, this list come up with $592. Since you are not using for gaming, I do not include video card, as onboard VGA should be enough for your use.

You probably can go for cheaper 400W psu for the above set up. However, I do include this such that it can handle most of the upgrade in future.

If you want to get a video card within your budget, with $100, you can get these

wouldn't the x6 be overkill? and I'll prob upgrade to a corsair psu, as well as a samsung f3 hdd

Video card, like I said I can spend up to $700 so go ahead and throw one in!

5670 is a midrange card, equal to a 9800gt so medium/high settings on the most demanding games, any source engine games (TF2, CS:S, Portal) you can max easily.

bump...really wanting to hear thoughts on if this is a good build, should I stick with the x6 or go with the x4 I chose.

If it'll run this screen well (nevermind apparently the prices weren't still good through cyber monday :() But it was a 23" Samsung LED LCD

and if it's just worth the money/build...wanting to buy today!

save $45 with these. same mobo/the 955 is the same as the 965...just a stock factory set of .2ghz diff which won't matter but if it bothers you that boards software will clock the 955 up for you and a modest oc won't require a 3rd party cooler, the stock will be good/your corsair and this xfx both have the seasonic innards so get this for less and further discounts on the 5770 with is an improvement over the 5670(not that you need it, but its more for less $. maybe put some $ towards a better case, the one you chose needs at least 1 or 2 more fans.

^Well, at first the op said no games, then when he saw what he could get for the budget he asked 'hech how good would games play on this', so i dont think gaming is a top priority, im sure he'll let us know. also, from what i gather not a lot of games utilize 4 cores extensivly let alone 6. Lastly the op said he was trying to cut costs.

I wouldnt spend 1k on a system i was going to just surf with because i could afford it. less would be the same.

ok to the op get a athlon x2 then if money is an issue but be warned if you do wanna play games you will prob have to update whole build in 6 months time where as if you get the x6 you looking at a few years id say roughly 4 years easy

I don't understand the whole "upgrade" to corsair thing...? As if their power supplies are the very best just because of the name?

Except for being lower wattage, that S12II is a better performer than the Corsair. And like daisy said, high end Corsairs are made by Seasonic anyway. (The TX650 is made by Channel Well, though)

TS, if you want a higher quality unit, this one is 100W, performs better, is partially modular, and has better build quality. It's also made by Seasonic, and is roughly the same price. (significantly cheaper if you count the rebate)

OS price went back up, so here's where my builds at at this point (still a little over), but if it'll do everything well, be fast, hold LOTS of pictures, run lots of things at once, and maybe the occasional game (call of duty if anything), then I'll spend

Also again, will I need anymore cooling in this case?
