Building another gaming/video editing rig,
This time my budget is 900$, could go to 1000$ if needed but I would prefer to keep it 900.
Also I need to record gameplay at high settings.
This is the processor that i chose: ( Please suggest any other one if you think is better).
1. CPU 215$
2.Mobo 160$ (Is SLI in future possible?)
3.Memory 100$
4.HDD 66$
5.GPU 350$ (or possible GTX 460? cheap)
6. PSU please suggest, I got no idea which one is good. I won't SLI for 2 to 3 years.
7. I think I will need a new monitor, please suggest me one.
Guys please suggest me if any modifications are required for the above parts or if a complete change is required. Thanks!:)

Why are you buying a dual-core CPU?

I'd be after an i5 2500K, personally...

I will go for 6950, would save me around 50-100 $. I need a monitor:confused:
i5-2500k isn't yet available in India :(

Not at all? Fail :(

Still, go for an i5 7xx over a 6xx. The 6xx ones are dual core with hyperthreading, while the 7xx ones are quad core, and cheaper since they have no integrated graphics. You basically drop a useless feature and add a ton of performance.

You could also consider AMD for now. One of the 6-core Thuban chips would out-perform any i5 in video editing performance, and there wouldn't be a very big difference between them while gaming. The upgrade path is also a lot better, since AM3 chips work in AM3+ motherboards.
