Second HDD Not Recognized

My laptop has two 160GB drives, a few weeks ago, I could see both, but now I only see one, I am not sure what happened.

I have the Restore Disks handy, should I use those, or is there an easier way?

Thanks.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management, and see if both drives are listed there. It may just need to be formatted or portioned.

Can I do that without doing the same or damaging the C:?

I would use the restore disk, but it would erase the C:.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Alright, so I went to the Disk Management page and found both hard drives, one is a blank name shows a blank file system and says Healthy EISA Confiuration, and the second one shows C: NTFS for the file system and says Healthy system, boot and stuff.

The Disk 1, where it says unknown, has 150GB Unallocated, but I don't see a format button or anything.

Thanks.

Alright, so I reformatted everything, and I still only see one drive on the My Computer page. Two hard drives were noticed in the BIOS and it has 320GB total, and I only see one 160GB drive.

Thanks.

check disk manager like omega said before. if it shows up there it's probably just a matter of initializing and partitioning the drive

can you right click the field of the left of it? where it says disk 0 (or 1 or 2 or whatever).
there should be an initialize disk option there.
after that you can format it.
