second sata hard drive

Hi There,
I want to install a second hard drive for extra storage in to my desktop system, a western digital 320gb 2.5" sata drive.
i have plugged the sata cable into the no 3 sata slot and slaved in a sata power supply. switched on the system but i cant see the drive, it is listed in the device manager but it isn't shown in my computer. any ideas anybody.
I have a new system with vista and the second sata hard drive is also new.

You need to initialize the drive and partition it under the "Disk Management" utility.

Right click on "My Computer" and go to "Manage" then select "Disk Management". Right click on the new drive and "initialize", then "Create New Partition".

It will format and then appear in "My Computer".
