Secondary Monitor Lagging !!

Hello folks,

I put together my new PC last month with the following specefications:

Intel Core2Due e6600 (@2.4 GHz)
Asus P5B Motherboard
Kingston 1GB of Ram
nVidia GeForce 7900 GS OC
Currently still running the trial version of Windows Vista (@32-bit)

The problem is:
I have dual DVI-D outputs from the video card, one is connected to my PC monitor, and the other is connected to my TV (Sony KDL-40S2010 HDTV 40" LCD). I sometimes download movies and want to watch them on my TV, so I select it as my secondary moniter, and I drag Windows Media Player to that monitor..
what happens is: Every about 30 seconds of playing, the screen starts to lag! The voice is still perfect, but the image fails to keep up!! (I also must mention that the extension cable from the video card to the TV is 50fts).

When it starts lagging, if I double click on the picture to go back to normal mode instead of full picture mode, I get perfect picture, but again in 20 seconds or 30 seconds, it will start to lag, So I double click on it again to put it in full picture mode, good picture,, after 30 secs,, same story.

Alrights, its been a while with no replies.

I managed to eliminate the lagging by switching from 32-bit Colors to 16-bit Colors. But obviously the picture quality with 16-bit colors isnt that good.

Any idea where is the source of the problem? Is it the 50ft. cable? is it the Video Card? or is it because Trial Version of Vista ?

I can safely say that its not the trail version of Vista, it may be your 50ft cable or your card? You can eliminate the cable by placing you monitor closer to the card without the extension cable. I never had that problem before, if it seems to go faster in 16 bit rather than 32 bit then it may be an indication that its your card.

damn.. and I thought my new nVidia GeForce 7900 GS OC was good for my usage.. I guess i got it wrong!! Too bad I can't change it :(

Is there any other way to bypass this problem? it is so damn annoying!

You should check to see if its your cable because I have yet to hear about a graphics card of that caliber lag in 2d mode.
