Security for small business network

What kind of security? There are many aspects/layers to deploying a secure setup.

With these kinds of basic questions it may be worth employing an IT consulting firm to give you a specific audit of the existing environment and recommendations of how to further secure that environment.
 
Yeah, there are many aspects to security. Layers and layers. Firewall, the configuration and the user all come to play. For example; if a user downloads a malware file through E-mail that could compromise the whole network.

Since this is small business network I would look into untangle. You could opt for the server appliance or put the .ISO image on a dedicated machine serving your network.

What server OS? Linux or Windows?
 
What kind of security? Are you trying to protect your internal clients/servers from the outside? Are you trying to keep data secured on your LAN? Securing your WAN so clients don't access content you don't want them to? It depends on your specific needs and what hardware you already have.
