Security Questions for Proxy Server Users

I want to use a free public high anonymity proxy server. I have two questions.

1)Is there software available that will encrypt everything I send through the proxy server making the characters undecipherable to the proxy servers system administrators?

2)If I send an email user a proxy server can the recipient discover my real IP address?

Thank You

What exactly is your higher goal here?

No matter what, there is a way to track what you do. A proxy just masks the destination server of your original location, however, the proxy server knows exactly where you are.

Emails contain IP information in the headers, if you are paranoid use a web based email, that way all the IPs will come from their public IP range and not yours.

If you really want to encrypt traffic I would look at HTTPS over ssh tunnel. It won't be easy, but it would technically work I suppose as long as all the ports are open and ready for use. Then again, what exactly is your higher goal here?

My goal is to be able to surf anonymously and securely. I want privacy. I won't want an unscrupulous proxy server administrator stealing my data.

I don't mind the proxy server knowing where I am. But I want to feel secure in that none of my data gets stolen.

There must be some easy to use encryption software that encrypts every keystroke a user makes right?

Also, do all web-based email accounts not give an ISP address in the header?

Thanks for any input.

You sound paranoid, unless you are transferring super top secret data really there is no one out there watching you. There are over 1 billion internet devices on Earth, and that means that 1/6th of our population is on line.

Unless you want it to be guaranteed, you need to set up your own proxy server. Because even if you think it is secure the proxy can be logging information from other sources and also sharing and pooling them with out any of your knowledge of it.

Your ISP will track your traffic to the Proxy and if you were in fact doing illegal activities the authorities could subpoena the proxy and the ISP.

I am sorry but the only real reason why people do such things is for typically highly illegal activities. I am not going to assume or accuse anyone of doing such things, but that is the jest of it.

Encrypting key strokes? You mean what you input into your web browser?

Let me put it to you this way. Terrorist cells around the world use shoddy security methods on line and the authorities still have issues tracking them down. If you aren't breaking the law you need not worry as there is no crack team watching everyone do anything on line all the time. The only time you get watched is if you draw attention to yourself.
