No doubt the X-25 is great price/performance, its just not the fastest is all:P The new firmware just introduces the TRIM command pretty much, and while it does help write speeds along, even brand new drives(which is what TRIM command brings them to the performance of) the torqx are still faster in write. Would i buy a torqx? Probably not, but i wouldnt buy an X-25 either at the moment. (If anything atm id pick up a few vertexes and raid them). Mainly due to just the performance of these drives for their price, you can raid them for cheaper than a X-25:

SSD RAID. How much of a performance increase can you get from that?

I can't see too much of a reason to buy Velociraptors anymore unless you need higher capacities.
