Seeking suggestions for laptop to replace dead desktop computer

I am not sure that the monitor will have Wireless (not necessarily WiFi, but maybe bluetooth) but the laptop should have HDMI or USB-C where you can connect to that (maybe with an adapter if your monitor does not have USB-C or HDMI) for sure so you could use the 200-inch or the TV (though would the Mrs allow you use the TV? :D). What model number of the monitor do you have? Should look like Dell E20xxH or something similar.

As to the Chromebook, I am not sure if it works on those but Chrome has AdBlockPlus plugin, which will take care of the ads.
Dell "Flat panel monitor # 2009Wt" , it has some sort of USB connector that resembles an optical video in size and shape, but the monitor is probably obsolete. Will investigate the AdBlockPlus, Mrs. would be pleased if it works.

Yeah that monitor is about 10 years old (Dells tend to have the manufactured date on it) so there will be no chance for it to have wireless capabilities. Only VGA and DVI (which you can use an adapter/cable to connect to the laptop, just may not be as good quality on screen. Probably a USB-C or HDMI to DVI would be the best one).

The USB connection is to provide USB connectivity to the USB ports next to that one and on the left side. A standard USB-A 2.0 cable will work to get those connected.

I find the 16" screen on this new machine quite adequate, will probably connect to the Smart TV on the wall for showing pics & videos. Now that I have my hands on this laptop I begin to see what is what. Old monitor going to the barn.
This is the first time I have really been able to poke around the forum, been too busy loading pics, sorting and learning how to create folders, etc. because my priority had become getting photos submitted to the insurance company and switching all my storm related files from the Chromebook.
Only now can I catch my breath and find out how badly I messed up my new computer hacking my way through the WIN11 startup process. And also I think I need to switch off the S option. I saw some posts about how to and need to go find them now.

Yes, I highly recommend disabling Smode so you can download anything you want. With Smode enabled, you are limited to microsoft store apps. Usually Smode is enabled on laptops with small Emmc storage cards not NVME boot drives.
