i kno about ram kinda 60/40 ive read the 101 on it and etc... anyways

for hardcore gaming and multitasking i wanna upgrade my ram

i cant find any ddr2 cas latency of 2 at newegg but i found cas latency of 2 with pc 3200

tell me wich would be faster and better ram

1gig ddr2 667 pc(5400) cas latency of 4
or
1gig ddr 400 pc(3200) cas latency of 2

correct me if im wrong but u want lower latency for performance correct?

The reson you cnt find DDR2 with lat of 2 is ebcause hey dont exist, and I dout your motherbored supports both kind;s of ram anyways, look up your mobo specs and see what it supports.

i looked the mobo on google..it seems like it supports both DDRII and DDR400 ram...dono how that works, someone back that one up, cause i didn't come up w/ many results.

my mobo does support both http://www.asrockamerica.com/Products/775dual880p.htm that is the link to my mobo

but u cant run both at the same time ... but it does have feature to use either or... has 2 slots for each and can handle 2 gigs of each of wich you decide to use... - Support DDR-II 667/533/400, DDR 400/333/266*

so back to my original question should i go with ddr400 with lat of 2 or ddr2 667 with lat of 3 and highest speed

Ok, it has 2x DDR2 slots and 2x DDR slots, now it makes since.

I would go with the DDR400 CL2, mainly cause you'd probably see better performance in games then with the DDR2. And you can most likely overclock higher with the DDR400 CL2 memory.
