Hi all,

I currently have a lovely 7900GTX paper weight; yes you guessed it its one of the cards with the famous problems.

And the card manufacture Evga, only puts them self out to help fellow Americans. I have had unanswered emails, and my posts on the forums go unanswered to.

I have had it up to here with this company, so I was going to Ebay my card and get a X1900XTX.

I have always has an Nvidia card, so was wondering if any other Nvidia card manufactures have also fixed this problem? If not do you think I am doing to right thing in selling my card and getting a X1900XTX?

Matt

If you could trade a 7900GTX for an x1900XTX, I may say go ahead with it. However with the money you get on ebay, you would loose out on alot of money.

And the 7900GTX and x1900XTX are neck and neck in a variety of tests, some perform better in others and vice versa.

well...nvidia has 10 year warranty's its hard to believe they wouldn't act upon that.....i would call them and ask them about a return policy and possibley getting it exchanged...the benefits and sort of insurance i guess you could say you get with a nvidia card makes it worth while

I have heard that the flaw is in all the 7900's, so no matter which brand you get there is a chance it will be a buggered one. You should be able to get your money back, and if you do get it back, going with the x1900xtx might not be a bad idea, since it's pretty much the same kind of performance from a 7900GTX, but without a history of crapping out within the first couple days of usage.

That’s the problem my card was done on the Step-Up programme, so I can not receive a refund.

The 10 year warranty is good, but having to send it back to Germany each time is costly, as I am from the UK.

If Evga’s customer service was what is was meant to be cracked up to then I would not been considering selling my card, I know they have fixed the card and have released new AR cards, but trying to find out when people from Europe will be able to receive theses new cards is like trying to draw blood from a stone.

Further more they are offering Cross-Shipment to people in US, and look’s like they are leaving Europe out. Does not add up.

Warranty can only go so far, if the company offering it is not prepared to help then the warranty is good as void.

call them, if they don't replace that's utterly retarded. you do a step-up and receive a new card, it shouldn't at all not be able to be returned as defective..

call them

I've never actually sent anything back to eVGA, but the second I realized the capacitor fell off my previous 7800GT, I called them. They gave me MUCH less problems than Newegg did, and I wish I would of gone with them rather than Newegg. The rep offered to replace it, but suggested I try where I bought it first.

Try calling them rather than sending emails.

rubbish
you wont be able to get a refund with your original supplier but that doesnt matter, EVGA have a legal obligation to replace the goods or give you back a monetary amount equal to the value (this will be the value of the goods you traded for it)

You will get know-where emailing them. You must call them
They may have UK distributions depos to send it too. Dont let them screw you over

Last time I phoned Evga it cost me £3.15 for a 12 minute phone call, and I got no where with them.

I don’t fancy being charged that much again for them to just say, wait.

And on there website it does state, refunds will be offered if purchased via Evga online store.

Just can not be assed with all the bother this company has caused me, not like im ringing a free number, just chucking more money down the drain

this is one reason i choose ati over nvidia i hate having to deal with out of country returns altho i've only ever owned one nvidia card and it never had any issues but it was crap tech (5200) lol...
