sempron 3200 or athlon 3200?

the althon would be better because of higher cache and higher clockspeeds.
 
the sempron uses a different performance rating calculation than the athlons, remember that the athlon is in the performance class while sempron is in the budget class.
the athlon would be the choice for performance
 
Definately Athlon 64 (3200). The speed capabilities on Athlon would, I think, outstrip Seprom 3200. For gaming purposes this would be great.

my old sempron 2800+ was an excellent budget gaming cpu, and great overclocker. I can play games just as good as my P4 3Ghz.
 
my sempron 3100+ served me well for gaming, plus i managed to get it to overclock from 1.8 GHz all the way to 2.4GHz on stock cooling. even stock performance was pretty good. i dont think the lower cache hinders it very much at all

who says athlon 64? lol, but do go with the athlon (64 or xp)
 
but thats comparing the Socket A processor to the Socket 754, comparing A-Athlon to A-Sempron: Athlon... A-Athlon to 754-Sempron: Sempron... 754-Athlon to A-Sempron: Athlon...
 
based on Toms hardware site, Quake 3, the Athlon xp3000 still scores better that the sempron 3000, tho not by much, don't know if it would be noticeable therefore which is the better price?...And I compare the 3000's because there was no Sempron 3200 to compare to the XP, You are talking XP3200 right. If it's the 64, the 64 3200 would be the choice
