Just wondering if a Sempron (AM2) processor will run with DDR2 800 memory. I noticed that in AMD's list of compatible memory for the Sempron line they list nothing high than DDR2 667. Would the RAM just automatically drop down to a lower clock speed?
If it makes a difference here are the two particular products I am looking at.
CPU: Sempron AM2 2800+: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104301
RAM: Kingston Value 1GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820134114
An odd combination I know. I will be building a computer in a month or so and I am going back and forth on the CPU. I am also considering the Athlon 64 3800+ If anyone has the urge to go through another newbie's list of components to check compatibility let me know.
Thanks for the help,
