Seperate windows for excel files

ok, sorry if this is in the wrong place..

this is driving me crazy..

i am trying to open 2 or more excel files in their OWN window - yes i have check the open in taskbar and they do open seperalty, but unless you are careful when closing (not hitting the X) they all close.

i have also already checked the DDE settings for Open under XLS in file types.. this is correct

i have also already excel / unregserver and excel /regserver no change

i can get the files to open seperatly but they are not truley seperate.. if i click on the X to close one they all close.. and yes i know the work around for this but you have to keep in mind the clients/user i deal with are flippin lazy and do not want to click on file, close... yes they are morons..

so it is my understanding thru research that this is Not truly possible to open seperate excel files and close seperate excel files.. .is this correct or does anyone know a fix, or work around..

thanks in advance

One method that works and is just as inconvenient for the lazy as File/Close or right-click on Taskbar icon!
Open Excel, open the first file; start another copy of Excel and open the second file. They behave as separate apps other than you cannot open the same file twice. This behaviour may vary with different versions of Excel. I only have one.
