Serious Lag, with everything! help!

I built my computer about a year ago, it has a MSI mobo, intel 3.2ghz, 775 socket processor. 4 gig's of DDR2 800mhz Ram ( 2 sticks )<but running XP so it only reads 3 gigs> a Geforce, axle, 9500 GT, 1 gig graphic card, 1 TB hard drive, 7500 rpm. ya not bad stuff but for SOME reason, every game or movie i try to play, it plays good for about 10 sec's then laggs BADLY for about 5, this goes on as long as i have the game up, ive tried overclocking, ive searched my computer for viruses, ( nothing found ) no spyware,< right now lol. i cant figure it out, i have the newest drivers for the video card, whats wrong?!?!?!

Do some general computer cleanup with these programs, they are all free:

CCleaner
Auslogics Disk Defrag
Auslogics Registry Cleaner
Auslogics Registry Defrag
Malwarebytes

Install and run all of these programs on a weekly basis, except for the registry defrag which only needs to be done about once a month
 
Yeah do a clean-up like mentioned,Also the 9500GT is not all that great for gaming....Its low end.

What games are you trying to play?
 
yer
check your actual computer visually and give it a clean frst then clean the software.
maybe delete some stuff you dont use as it takes up memory which might slow down your computer and the stuff running in the background. go to task manager to find out.
