Server for Message Board

I would like to set up an online message board for a small group of friends. Since there will only be a few people using it I would like to host it on my home computer, which is connected to the internet via a comcast home connection. Can some one please point me in the right direction on how to go about this?

This is probably pretty advanced for a very average comuter user but any direction is appreciated. Also, please move this thread to a more applicable forum if one has been established for beginners' questions.

I'm looking to learn how to do it. It's ok if it's a hassle. Can you give any guidance on where to start?

ah i see now. Best thing to do for a strter is to get some cheep hosting (like £2.99PCM on ebay) for a crappy shared server. and then learn FTP and installing things. You will need to learn a little about CHMod (permissions bascily) i will try and find a guide for you now
