Server Rack?

I am looking for a server to use to host some games, I want a RACK server as in one I could slide into a compartment, I want it to be flat and I need it to be upgrade able to 64-128 gb of ram, (as in have 8 ram slots maybe? I don't know if 8 is the max per stick or 16 is.) And have a removable processor that is compatible with new processors. Now here's the hard part. It has to be cheap... Any ideas? It DOES NOT have to have anything in it, It can just be the case and mobo but if it has anything on it it's fine. If It works right when it gets to my house that would be awesome but if I have to put some time and money into it I'm fine with that.

Sorry about my babbling but any ideas? :D:D

Thanks,

Well I should warn you, a server with 64-128Gb of ram that has a processor slot that can be upgraded, unless you are very lucky, wont be cheep. I would check out neweggs bare bones servers, they are generally just the rackable chassis and power supplies and you can often pick the rest of the parts.

Unless you have a bunch of cash burning a hole in your pocket I would suggest figuring out exactly what the game server requires to run and getting a server to match the specs. Also don't forget most likely you are going to want to pay for collocation to get your server in a reliable environment.

Cheap and rack server don't belong in the same sentence, ever. A server motherboard that meets those criteria is going to be at least $250, then you still need a processor (Intel or AMD?), and memory. The games you'll host will probably require Windows, so now you need to invest in a server OS, to utilize all of that memory you installed. There's $700 or so right there. You could install some flavor of linux and have a free OS, but you probably won't have support for your game.

Okay, lemme change this then, I need a computer that can run a basic server, support 8-16 GB of ram, removable CPU and GPU. How about now :D

That's an awful lot of ram... Unless you have some impressive synchronous bandwidth with a good number of users you won't come anywhere near being able to use that much.

Take a look at this:

The price is good and it should be more than capable of hosting some games. One other thing, with this or pretty much any other professional level server, you're going to want it in the garage if you like to be able to sleep or for that matter even hear yourself think.
