Hi,

So i have the Synology DS414 currently running on 2 x 4TB Seagate NAS HDD's,
this is connected to the BT Home Hub 3 via ethernet cable.
The BT hub is set up through ADSL.
I have managed to set up profiles upload data and log in when I am at home but I am unable to access when I am on other WIFI networks.
Im not sure if many of you are used to DSM 4.3 the software that runs on the server but they have EZ-set up to "set up the disck station and its applications over the internet by configuring network settings, port forwarding rules, firewall and DDNS services.
Unfortunately this does not automatically set UPnP port forwarding rules when connected though BT Home Hub 3.
It does say I can do it manually but doesn't really explain all it says is to keep port 1723 open which I believe i have done on the BTHomeHub Manager (but not sure) but still no luck.
I would like to set it up so that I can access the server from anywhere.

I would appreciate any insight from someone who has succeeded where I am now failing

Thanks

You need to go into your router settings and forward port 1723 both (TCP and UDP) to the IP address of the server. If it's not already a static address I'd set it up to be so.

Could you please upload your screen shot somewhere like tinypic and embed it? I can't see your attachment.
