I've been wondering why my internet connection is so slow at my apartment here at school. I live in Richmond, Kentucky where I attend school. I've got Time Warner's Roadrunner as my ISP. I have this same service at home back in Ohio as well. Everything is standard as far as the bandwidth is concerned (I think it's 10 Mb/s...I don't recall off hand). Everything is wireless as well. However, at home the connection seems much faster, even with a "stock router" that was given to my parents by Time Warner Cable (I had to buy a router from Best Buy, Linksys E3000...not my best purchase). Could the location have something to do with my connection being so slow here in Richmond? I live in an apartment that was built in 1990. Also, there are a TON of networks around me so I think that might be an issue as well. I'm not too sure what to think of this, anyone have any insights or opinions as to why everything is slower one location as opposed to another, all other things the same?
